Every relationship faces challenges—but when certain patterns repeat without resolution, they can create lasting strain. In a city like Burbank, where professional demands, creative pressure, and fast-paced schedules are part of daily life, these challenges can intensify over time if left unaddressed.
At Blue Sky Psychiatry, we help couples identify not just what is going wrong—but why it keeps happening. Our goal is to break unproductive cycles and replace them with healthier, more effective ways of communicating and connecting.
Below are some of the most common relationship challenges we help couples overcome:
Many couples feel stuck in conversations that go nowhere—or escalate quickly into conflict. Misunderstandings, defensiveness, and lack of clarity can make even simple discussions feel exhausting.
We help couples develop:
If you find yourselves having the same argument over and over again, it’s often a sign of deeper unresolved issues. These cycles can lead to frustration, resentment, and emotional fatigue.
Our therapy focuses on:
Over time, many couples begin to feel less connected—even if there’s no major conflict. Busy schedules, stress, and life transitions can slowly erode emotional intimacy.
We help partners:
Trust can be damaged in many ways—through dishonesty, broken commitments, or emotional withdrawal. Rebuilding trust requires more than time; it requires a clear, guided process.
We support couples in:
Burbank couples often face external pressures that impact their relationship—whether from demanding careers, parenting responsibilities, or major life changes.
We help you:
Conditions such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and burnout can significantly affect communication, emotional regulation, and relationship satisfaction.
Because of our integrated care model, we can:
Sometimes, conflict arises simply because partners have different ways of expressing themselves or different emotional expectations.
We guide couples in:
These challenges are common—but they don’t have to define your relationship. With the right structure and support, meaningful change is possible.
If you recognize any of these patterns, you can connect with our team to explore your next steps and begin working toward a healthier, more stable relationship.

Many couples come to therapy looking for immediate relief from conflict—and while that’s important, lasting change requires a deeper level of work.

We understand that couples in Burbank often manage demanding schedules and evolving responsibilities. That’s why we offer flexible care options, including secure telehealth sessions across California, so you can prioritize your relationship without unnecessary barriers.

Couples who choose Blue Sky Psychiatry are looking for more than temporary solutions—they’re looking for trusted guidance, clinical expertise, and a clear path forward.
If you’re ready to work with an experienced team that prioritizes real results, you can reach out here to begin the process and take the next step toward a stronger relationship.
Most couples don’t reach out for help the moment problems begin. Instead, issues often build slowly—starting with small misunderstandings, growing into recurring arguments, and eventually leading to emotional distance or frustration. Recognizing these early warning signs is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your relationship.
If you’re noticing tension or disconnection, it doesn’t mean your relationship is failing. It means your relationship is giving you signals that something needs attention—and those signals are worth addressing early.
The first step is simply recognizing that something has shifted. Many couples fall into patterns of blaming each other, which only deepens conflict. Instead, focus on observing the pattern itself rather than assigning fault.
Ask yourself:
Awareness creates space for change.
Avoiding difficult conversations may feel easier in the short term, but over time, it often leads to resentment and emotional distance. Small issues that go unaddressed tend to grow into larger relational barriers.
Healthy relationships require:
Most relationship struggles are not about one argument—they’re about repeated cycles. For example, one partner may withdraw while the other pursues, creating a repeating loop of frustration.
Identifying these patterns helps you shift from reacting emotionally to understanding what’s actually happening in the relationship dynamic.
When tension increases, communication often becomes reactive instead of intentional. One of the most effective ways to begin improving the relationship is by slowing down conversations and focusing on clarity rather than winning arguments.
This includes:
Many couples wait until problems feel overwhelming before seeking therapy—but early intervention is often more effective and less emotionally draining.
Couples therapy provides:
At Blue Sky Psychiatry, our approach is designed to help couples move from confusion and conflict to clarity and collaboration in a structured, supportive environment.
You don’t have to wait until your relationship feels unmanageable to seek help. Small changes made early can significantly shift the direction of a relationship.
If you’re starting to notice these patterns, you can explore how our couples therapy process works here or take the next step by connecting directly with our team to begin building a healthier foundation together.
Dr Mindy I have known for over a decade and her continuous care and professionalism is outstanding. Many times I came to see her feeling like I am at the end of my rope and she ALWAYS has an answer of how we can make things work with a different medication, a different solution and never gives up. I owe her so much for without these medications and her confidence and care I wouldn't be able to function and I am functioning very well now. Even though she moved out of town I still see her through Telehealth as she truly is the BEST!
Dr Mindy was a life saver for my son and our family. She was so attentive and compaSsionate. I felt like she put her heart and sole into treating my son. She is so up to date on the newest medications and techniques in psychiatry. She carefully listens and gained my sons trust and ours. I have sent several other friends and family members to her and they all had the same experience. A++++
Dr. Mindy Werner-Crohn was a lifesaver. Not only is she most knowledgeable about the latest advances in psychopharmaceuticals and medical advances in psychiatry and psychology, she is also up to date on other treatments to help in a variety of situations. I found her honest, straightforward, and accessible as well as very friendly and helpful. She even went to bat for me when I had an issue with my insurance company. Her staff is professional and goes above and beyond what would be required to make any patient feel welcomed and well taken care of. I cannot recommend Dr. Werner-Crohn highly enough!
Dr. Mindy has been tremendously helpful to our son first, and then to me, as I became a patient as well. Yes, she is expensive, but there are few things that are worth more than getting the best advice you can from an expert in the mental health field who is truly brilliant in so many ways. After seeing other psychiatrists, and getting a variety of diagnoses and mediocre advice, Dr. Mindy was able to very quickly help our son by seeing what his issues were and getting him on the proper medication which has actually helped him to feel better and function better in school and in general. She cares about her patients, listens to them, and advises them not only on mental health but also has given us advice about other areas such as when and where to get tutoring help and deciding when he is ready for independence like staying home alone and going to summer camp. She has even given us referrals regarding concerns about his nutrition and growth. If you are trying to navigate any mental health issues and getting overwhelmed by a lot of questionable advice, I highly recommend you go to see Dr. Mindy!
Dr Mindy Warner Crohn is the most magnificent, spectacular, caring psychiatrist I have ever had the pleasure to work with. 10 years ago I was diagnosed bipolar. I will now be 63 this Saturday. It's been a 10 years of up-and-down of different medications and therapy. She never gave up. She was always my cheerleader. She is brilliant. She now practices up in Oakland, but I have worked with her for the last 7 years or so,since Covid via Zoom. I could have my dates askew; but the important thing is I am doing well and I owe it all to her. In addition, she set me up with a wonderful therapist Dr. Tracy Rosberg. Together they have really helped turn my life around. God bless them both.
I am a client of Shira Crohn's and l can't recommend her enough! She is a thoughtful, compassionate and highly skilled practitioner. I have benefitted enormously from her guidance and care. If you want someone who will engage you and guide you in your journey, then Shira will partner with you to do just that.
Shira is the best psychiatrist I've ever worked with. She is empathetic and kind, but not a dunce or a pushover either. We've talked about various aspects of my treatment, and she has worked with me to find the right combination that works (which we did!) She's just good people, not there to cram as many appointments in as possible, just to run off to golf or something. I couldn't recommend her more highly.
